After arriving in Tobago we repeated the tradition of a number of years and moved into the Crown Point Hotel.....wonderful spot....lots of nice people, right on Store Bay, close to the airport and really a super place. Hope you enjoy the pics.
Wow!! what a lovely and classic shot of the grounds.....cabanas on the right and the top of the steps down to Store Bay on the left........wish I was there now!! The first cabana, immediately on the right was once owned by Malcolm Browne who lived there and created some of the most spectacular art things out of the most basic material.........we miss him not being there but such is life.
This shot is taken looking in the same direction as the one above but on a parallel pathway closer to the main road on the airport side.......The back of Malcom's cabana would be to my left as I took this shot, and Columbus bar is behind this row of ground floor apartments to the right. The group of people are sitting right in front of our apartment and represent the first stages of the gathering of the clan.......a daily event........sit and fire a few, decide the days program........fire a few more.......fine tune the program........fire a few more........ask for comments and ideas.......fire a few more and so on. What a tough life!!!
This is a great shot of the lovely old main building with the pool, restaurant and bar at right background. Here I am facing in the opposite direction to the other two pictures, and looking towards the sea with the runway running parallel to my left. The barbecue pits like the one in this pic, really an old coal-pot on legs, are always in high demand, and in order to secure ours for the session you will see in a later release, we had to "huff" this one early in the morning and hide the grill in our apartment to keep others from huffing it back.....well worth the work.
